Beyond COVID-19 in 2020, there was: Economic transformation. Scientific breakthroughs. Lifestyle changes. Priorities changed. Social uprising. Cities relinquished. Concerns with internet censorship. Technological advancements (what we are here to discuss). News consumption changes.
Technology Advancement
Industries were transformed through innovation and technology advancement. Scientific breakthroughs were accelerated by decades. We were forced to face the holes in our global supply chain and trade agreements. Our priorities and mindsets shifted as the months went by in isolation and as we became accustomed to social distancing lifestyles. The power of the internet, censorship and search algorithms became more apparent than ever before. No one was immune to the many narratives that went viral wave after wave across the web. Technology adoption and our dependency on it for daily living expanded across all age groups.
Big Tech Vs. Big Government
Also in 2020, Hollywood released “The Social Dilemma,” a documentary-drama hybrid narrating the consequences and implications of technology dependency during the Information Age. Then there was the threat to ban TikTok in 2020. There will be a long road of legal mediation ahead between big government and big tech, as technology continues to change our lives at a rate that is dramatically inequivalent to anything mankind has ever experienced. Triumph Over Adversity
The point in all of this is, 2020 was far from humanity’s golden year, but it was a notably historic year. It’s one that is worth mulling over to make sure we learn from it and grow stronger because of it. 2020 proved that the world can come together to tackle the most obtuse threats facing humanity to this day. It was a trying year, no doubt. In fact, I’m sure Tony Robbins is having a field day with the plethora of content and material to use from 2020 to demonstrate the triumph that can result from adversity.
So, I ask again, how will you use your 2020 vision to improve your life and consequently, the world around you?
Here are a few quotes to instill mental agility, self-motivation, and positivity; traits that helped us all to survive and maybe even thrive in 2020. For many reasons, I believe these 3 traits will continue to be demonstrative of success and happiness in the new year, amidst the pandemic and the aftermath of 2020.
Mental Agility: A Survival Of The Fittest Trait
“We cannot solve problems with the kind of thinking we employed when we came up with them.” — Albert Einstein
Finding Intrinsic Motivation In Times Of Isolation & Remote Working
“You inspire people who pretend to not even see you. Trust me.” — Unknown
Perspective Is Free & It Is Everything
“The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees opportunity in every difficulty.” — Winston Churchill
Jonathan’s Technology Solutions was not exempt from any of the above. 2020 defined our year of business transformation, agility, and flexibility in the face of unprecedented new times.
Cheers To The New Year!
